Job description: Design, implement, unit test, and document embedded software

Write and execute software unit and system test plans and procedures

Manage procedures and deliverables for software verification

  • Design, develop, and maintain embedded software and firmware for various devices, ensuring they meet functional requirements.
  • Utilize embedded C/C++ to develop code that runs directly on microcontrollers or microprocessors.
  • Create and execute test plans to validate embedded software functionality, performance, and reliability using hardware/software integration testing.
  • Implement real-time systems that require timely response to external events.
  • Develop device drivers to facilitate communication between software applications and hardware peripherals.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure integration of software and hardware components in embedded systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, software requirements, and user manuals.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in embedded engineering roles.
  • Proficiency in C and C++ for developing embedded software.
  • Experience with bare metal system designed with strict timing requirements.
  • Knowledge of microcontroller/microprocessor architecture, including ARM, Cortex-M, or AVR.
  • Ability to interface with hardware peripherals such as DMA, GPIO, SPI, I2C, and UART.
  • Familiarity with JIRA and GitLab or similar tools.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Familiar with electronic circuits, hardware and ability to read schematics and datasheets.
