Our client is seeking embedded software engineers who focus on writing code which sits on apparatus and integrates with hardware using heavy C/C++. As a Firmware Architect, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the system architects and development team. Your primary responsibility will be to develop a clear technical vision for the firmware and platform, while providing direction to the engineering team. You will actively participate in architecture discussions to solve complex problems and coding will be an integral part of your daily work.

Objectives

  • Work as a bridge between the Solution Architects and development team, building a technical vision of the firmware and the platform, and directing the development.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and complex problem solving as well as coding.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement robust communication protocols, security channels, device identity and provisioning mechanisms for seamless operation.
  • Take a lead role in architecting, designing, securing, and implementing state-of-the-art IoT systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical, Systems or Computer Engineering, or other related fields
  • Hold a minimum of 2 years work experience as an architect with 8 years focusing on Firmware development.
  • Hands-on work experience with at least one IoT radio communication technologies such as Zigbee or BLE.
  • Exhibits strong programming capabilities in C and Python.
  • Proficient in working with Request for Comment (RFC) standards and adept at leveraging documentation to shape the platform’s future direction.
  • Skilled in utilizing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to enhance security measures.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of IoT concepts and stay abreast of the latest trends in the field.
  • Well-versed in security and cryptography aspects pertaining to constrained devices which includes, libraries, algorithms, standards, back-ends, and protocols.
  • Proven ability to overcome technical obstacles.
  • Effectively excels in delivering presentations.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of modern IoT communication stacks – MQTT, CoAP, etc.
  • Basic understanding of electronics.
  • Experience with the secure provisioning process.
  • RTOS application development experience.
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration/Cloud operations/DevOps concepts.
  • Experience in containerization technology (AWS ECS, Docker Swarm).
  • Experience in user interface/interaction design.
  • Knowledge of Collective code ownership, Coding standards concept.

Expected salary: $155000 – 160000 per year
